Miniflebectomy

Miniflebectomy is a method for removing side varicose veins from small incisions using special instrumentation. Flebectomy is used when varices are so bulky that they cannot be treated with sclerotherapy or cannot be expected to disappear after radiofrequency, laser or mechanochemical removal. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and the deformed vessels are removed by mini-extirpations. Mini-phlebectomy is a so-called mini-surgery. A small incision is made in the area of the vein and part of the vein is pulled out to perform local compression. After the simple operation, the puncture site on the vein is closed, the incision is mini-stitched up nicely.

For a better effect, it is customary to use laser or medical sclerotherapy at the same time. The mini-wounds are sutured with fine, plastic sutures and with the subsequent use of a compression cloth, the ideal cosmetic effect is achieved. It is less traumatic when treating leg veins. Patients thus recover quickly and have no pain after surgery.
